I'm not sure, I never tried it, I was worried it would strain my kidneys. There is creatine in red meat, probably a better choice. If you take it, just don't overdo it and keep tabs on your creatinine levels.

I don't think it's overrated, unless you expect too much from it. Creatine is very effective, that's why a lot of people know about it and use it imo
