I am investigating this topic, I have not yet understood it fully, so bear with me...
Matthew 5:17–19
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 7:21–23
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Most Christians have been convinced that the Law of Moses does not apply to them, but even if you were to believe them, then much more is at stake by not following it, than following it, even if you do think you are right. This seems a pretty insane failure in basic risk management.
